The Cherokee Hellcat project – also known as “Trackhawk” – will be a new and improved all-wheel-drive system with a “beefed-up” transfer case, along with “other improved driveline components”. Not only is the Jeep Grand Cherokee borrowing the name Hellcat from the Challenger and Charger, but it is also borrowing technology from the Ram Diesel’s 8HP70 4WD System. The Cherokee Hellcat is rumored to have all of the Hellcat’s 707 horsepower. In fact, the “Trackhawk” may receive a ‘boost increase’, due to the 5,210 lb curb weight.
